Options for Members
PPL(H) PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE: The course consists of flight and ground instruction to give the pilot the necessary knowledge to pass flight tests. The minimum flying experience required to qualify for the issue of a PPL(H) is 45 flight hours of which 10 hours is solo. For the holder of a PPL(A) the minimum is 39 hours. Training for the PPL(H) is offered on the following helicopter: Robinson R44 Clipper The student pilot must pass a ground examination (multiple choice type) on the following topics: Procedures Human Preformances and Limitations Aircraft Knowledge Radiotelephony Flight Planning Our fully qualified, friendly and experienced chief-instructor will ensure that the PPL course is tailored to suit your individual requirements and to achieve the licence in the most efficient and enjoyable way.
TYPE CONVERSION: The Aeroclub of Monaco is authorized to conduct type conversions on the Robinson R44, Bell 206B Jetranger III and Colibri EC120 as well as other types through our trusted partners. Each course consists of ground instruction to familiarize the candidate with the new aircraft, its systems and the Pilots Operating Handbook. A minimum of 5 flying hours are normally required for these conversions.

MOUNTAIN FLYING: The course enables PPL(H) holders to acquire experience in a mountainous environment. Mountain flying is a real asset for a PPL(H) holder in our region. It is a unique opportunity of discovering unspoiled sceneries accessible to very few privileged people. The course is organized on a short ground briefing, followed by flights

NIGHT RATING: In order to fly under the JAR rules at night (defined as the hours between 30 mins after sunset to 30 mins before sunrise) you must hold a night qualification. Completing this rating will allow you to fly with or without passengers at night. Requirements:
